Comprehensive Community Plan: 2021 Update and Re-Adoption
The Town Council will hold a virtual Continued Public Hearing on Monday, May 24th at 7:30pm for consideration of an ordinance adopting the proposed update of the South Kingstown Comprehensive Community Plan. The new Comprehensive Community Plan replaces in its entirety the existing Comprehensive Community Plan approved by the State in April 2014. The new Comprehensive Plan’s adoption is in accordance with Rhode Island General Laws Title 45, Chapter 22.2. The proposed new Comprehensive Plan being considered is available for public review in the Planning Department, Town Hall, 180 High Street, Wakefield, RI during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 401-789-9331 extension 1244.

The Comprehensive Community Plan amendment proposed herein shall become effective for the purpose of being transmitted to the Director of Administration of the State of Rhode Island when it has been approved by both the Planning Board and Town Council. This proposed amendment shall not become effective for the purposes of guiding State agency actions until it has been approved by the State of Rhode Island pursuant to the methods set forth in the R.I. Comprehensive Planning and Land Use Act.
