Notice is hereby given of a Public Informational Hearing before the Town Council of the Town of South Kingstown relative to applying for State and Federal permission to discontinue the use of a Town recreation facility that is subject to a Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund easement.The recreation facility that is the subject of the Public Informational Hearing includes the entire property known as Town Farm Park, designated as plat 64-1, lot 1. The Town is considering discontinuing the use of Town Farm Park (approximately 8.1 acres) and transferring that property to the South County Hospital in exchange for a parcel of land approximately 35 acres, located at 494 Glen Rock Road and designated as a portion of plat 4-1, lot 1.
The Town Council will hold a Public Informational Hearing on Monday, January 13, 2020 in order to receive oral and written comments from the public relative to the proposal and required Environmental Assessment which is available for review on the Town of South Kingstown website www.southkingstownri.com. A 30 day comment period will begin on December 13, 2019 and written comments will be received by the South Kingstown Town Manager’s Office, 180 High Street, Wakefield, RI 02879 Monday through Friday, between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, or via email to towncouncil@southkingstownri.com by 4:00 pm on Monday, January 13, 2020.
Interested persons who are unable to provide advance written comments may submit written or oral comments directly to the Town Council during the Public Informational Hearing on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 7:30 pm in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 180 High Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.
Individuals requesting American Sign Language interpreters or CART service must call the Town Clerk’s Office at 401-789-9331 seventy-two (72) hours in advance of the meeting date.
