[ARCHIVED] 2018 Revaluation Assessment Notices

The revaluation company hired by the Town, Vision Government Solutions, mailed new assessment notices on Friday, February 15, 2019.

New assessments can be viewed on the Vision Government Solutions web site, www.vgsi.com (Vision Government Solutions, taxpayer information, Assessor’s online database). This web site will allow inquiry access to the Assessor’s database, including value summary, building data, sales search, and general valuation information.

Any property owner wishing to have their new assessment reviewed with a representative of Vision Government Solutions, may schedule an appointment by calling their toll free number at 1-888-844-4300 between the hours of 9:00AM-4:00PM Monday-Friday. Please have a copy of your assessment notification letter with the PID number listed at the top of the letter to book your appointment by Monday March 4, 2019. Please keep in mind that the call center operators making appointments are not qualified to discuss values or data.

If you wish, an appointment can be made online by visiting the Vision Government Solutions website at www.vgsi.com/schedules (Vision Government Solutions, taxpayer information, online scheduling)

NOTE: the previous assessments currently on record represent market values resulting from the 2015 revaluation program.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE OLD TAX RATE to calculate or estimate taxes using the new assessments. A new tax rate will be established once the reassessment process has been completed and the tax roll is certified in June of 2019.

These informal hearings are by appointment only and will be held in the conference room on the second floor of the South Kingstown Town Hall. This would be the time to review and present evidence supporting what you believe is the fair market value, such as comparable properties in your area. The results of your hearing will be mailed to you when the hearings and review process are complete.

Individuals who are unable to attend a hearing may appeal to Vision Appraisal in writing by March 15, 2019. Letters should be sent in c/o South Kingstown Tax Assessor’s Office, 180 High Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.

We would like to thank the residents of the Town of South Kingstown for their patience and cooperation during the reassessment process.

Jean-Paul Bouchard
