The Town of South Kingstown has been notified by Suez Water that the presence of E. Coli bacteria was detected in Suez's water district, along with South Kingstown’s Middlebridge and South Shore water districts. A boil water order for customers of these water systems has been issued by the RI Department of Health. These bacteria can make you sick. You must boil your water for one minute and let it cool before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, mixing baby formula or juices/drinks, washing dishes, and food preparation (see FAQ's below for more info). The boil water order is in effect until further notice. This affects Suez customers in SK, as well as SK South Shore and Middlebridge water customers . You will be notified once the order is lifted. This DOES NOT affect Kingston Water, URI or private well water users. For more information, Suez water customers should call (401) 789-0271 and South Shore and Middlebridge customers should call (401) 783-3321.
