[ARCHIVED] 2021 PROPERTY REVALUATION ASSESSMENT NOTICES

The revaluation company hired by the Town, Vision Government Solutions, is mailing new assessment notices by Friday, February 18, 2022.  New assessments can also be viewed on the Vision Government Solutions website, www.vgsi.com (Vision Government Solutions, taxpayer information, Assessor’s online database). This website will allow inquiry access to the Assessor’s database, including

  • value summary
  • building data
  • sales search
  • general valuation information

Any property owner wishing to have their new assessment reviewed with a representative of Vision Government Solutions, may schedule an appointment by calling their toll free number at 1-888-844-4300 between the hours of 9:00am-4:00pm Monday through Friday, or by visiting the VISION website: www.vgsi.com/schedules . Please have a copy of your assessment notification letter with the PID (Property Identification) number listed at the top of the letter, to book your appointment by Monday March 10, 2022. Please keep in mind that the call center operators making appointments are not qualified to discuss values or data.

PLEASE NOTE that the previous assessments currently on record represent market values resulting from the 2018 revaluation program. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE CURRENT TAX RATE to calculate or estimate taxes using the new assessment.  A new tax rate will be established once the reassessment process has been completed and the tax roll is certified in June of 2022. Please note that these informal hearings are by appointment only and will be held on the telephone due to COVID restrictions. This would be the time to review and present evidence supporting what you believe is the fair market value of your property, such as comparable properties in your area. The results of your hearing will be mailed to you when the hearings and review process are complete. Individuals who are unable to attend a hearing may appeal to Vision Appraisal in writing by March 28, 2022. Letters should be sent in c/o South Kingstown Tax Assessor’s Office, 180 High Street, Wakefield, RI 02879. The Assessor's Office would like to thank the residents of the Town of South Kingstown for their patience and cooperation during the reassessment process.
