1. Upon the filing of a local firearms and ammunition license application by the holder of a Class 03 Federal Firearms License in the Office of the Town Clerk, the application will be distributed to the various departments for approval, disapproval and/or other comments.
2. Based upon the information received from the administrative review process, the office of the Town Clerk will either: in the case of a disapproval, notify the applicant of the problem and the steps to be taken to remedy the disapproval; and in the case of an administrative approval, the office of the Town Clerk will forward the approved license application to the Town Council with written notification of the intent to issue a local firearm and ammunition license.
3. The Town Council will, within two weeks of receipt of the application and written notification of intent to issue a local firearms and ammunition license, register with the office of the Town Clerk any objections they have to the issuance of the license.
4. In the case where no objections are received by the Town Clerk within two weeks of the Town Council's receipt of the application and notification of intent to issue license, the Town Clerk and Police Chief will sign said license and issue it to the applicant.
5. In the case where there is an objection, the Town Clerk shall notify the applicant of the objection and the steps to be taken to remedy the objection. When the objection has been satisfied, the Town Clerk and Police Chief will sign said license and issue it to the applicant.
