Child Supervision Procedures

The South Kingstown Recreation Commission has recently adopted a new Child Supervision procedure. This procedure is in effect for children ages 12 and under. When completing registration forms, adults registering children must choose the release option they desire and complete the necessary information. Your attention to this important child safety issue is appreciated.

OPTION A: Open Release

Child is allowed to leave at the conclusion of the activity. This option should be used for walkers, children meeting parents in the parking lot, and car pool participants.

OPTION B: Authorized List

The child will be released to an adult on the authorized list. Proof of identification may be required if the supervisor is unfamiliar with the individual picking up the child. This option should be used for younger children who may be picked up by various individuals or by parents who desire enhanced child release procedures. (Please note that if the individual is not on the authorized list, the child will not be released until permission is obtained from parent/guardian).

OPTION C: Authorized List/Proof of Identification

The child will be released to an adult on the authorized list only after proof of identification has been provided. The individual on the authorized list must sign-out the child. This option should be used in extreme cases for parents who desire significant child release restrictions. (Please not that if the individual is not on the authorized list and/or does not have proof of identification, the child will not be released until permission is obtained from a parent/guardian).

The authorized list will be provided by parent/guardian at time of registration for the program/activity. New names can only be added in writing by a parent or guardian.
