Welcome to the South Kingstown Parks and Recreation Department website! The department was created in 1939 to provide parks and recreation programs and services for our town.

We offer over 1,000 recreation programs and classes annually for all ages and interests. We manage the Neighborhood Guild community center, Peace Dale Office Building, Stepping Stone Preschool, and extensive park system, William C. O'Neill Bike Path, Town Beach, and the Old Mountain Field in-line skating facility and skateboard park.

Approximately 67% of our annual operating budget is generated by program fees, facility operations, trust funds, and grants / donations. The remainder of our budget is provided by local tax support.

    Memorial Day Parade - Monday, May 27 @ 10 a.m.

    The South Kingstown Annual Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday, May 27th at 10:00 a.m. The parade starts on Holly Street, continues down Main Street, and concludes at Saugatucket Park on High Street. A short ceremony will be held at the Veterans Memorial at Saugatucket Park immediately following. In the event of inclement weather, please contact The Neighborhood Guild at 789-9301.

    New Medical Form

    The Parks and Recreation department has a new medical information form that is required for any child participating in any of our programs. If you filled out a form for your child last year, we need an updated version at this time. Please fill out the attached form and return it to the Neighborhood Guild before or at the time of your registration. Please note that we have changed the format of our form this year, so read it carefully to make sure that you don't miss anything. We appreciate you taking the time to fill it out.

    Recreation Department Announces PITCH, HIT & RUN Events

    South Kingstown Parks and Recreation will be holding its annual baseball PITCH, HIT & RUN competition for residents ages 7-14 on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at Tuckertown Park. There will also be a softball PTICH, HIT & RUN competition for girls ages 7-14, on Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 8 to 11:00 a.m. at Old Mountain Field.
