Under state and/or federal law SKPD is required to do background checks for the following individuals:
- Employees of DCYF and Foster Parents (no fee)
- Child Care, Day Care, Nursery School, Preschool employees who live or work in South Kingstown (no fee)
- All SK School volunteers (no fee)
- Elderly Facility employees and volunteers (no fee)
- Domestic Violence volunteers (no fee), Mental Health Employees ($36)
- School Teachers who live in South Kingstown ($36)
- Non-teaching employees of SK School Department ($36)
- Adoptive Parents ($36)
- Alarm Businesses ($36)
South Kingstown Residents who have fingerprint cards supplied by their employer that only require prints taken (no background checks) will be accommodated during background check hours(it is a good idea to call the police station before coming to have a background check done to make sure the check can be done in a timely manner):
Monday and Friday: 8:00 am - Noon
Wednesday: 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Sunday: 8:00 am - 9:00 pm
