The organization, powers and duties of the Planning Board are set forth in the Town Charter, Section 4910.
The Planning Board is engaged in land use development management, which includes a broad spectrum of activities concerning land use, development and the regulations which govern the process. The Planning Board reviews and approves all subdivisions proposals, and reviews and makes recommendations to the Council regarding zone change amendments. The Planning Board reviews and updates the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Regulations and the Comprehensive Community Plan.
The Planning Board meets regularly on the second Tuesday of each month, holds work sessions on the fourth Tuesday as needed with additional sessions scheduled on an as needed basis. Staff assistance is provided by the Town Planner.
The Town Council appoints members to the Planning Board for three-year terms. Currently, there is one vacancy.
