The purpose of the project is to develop a regional plan for sustainable economic growth in Washington County. The plan will:
1. Identify the areas most suitable for economic growth and/or expansion;
2. Identify the specific types of economic development that are suited to the character of Washington County communities, that will not stimulate additional growth that exceeds the plans and the capacity of the region, and that the region can reasonably hope to attract;
3. Integrate planning across town boundaries.
