A resolution establishing a Project Area Committee for the Reconstruction of Route 138. Eleven (11)* members will be appointed by the Town Council to serve two (2) year terms, with duties and responsibilities as follows:
Generally: The Project Area Committee for the Reconstruction of Route 138 serves as an advisory body to the Town Council on matters concerning the planning, design and construction of Route 138 by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation.
Project Limits: The project limits are Route 2 to Route 108, including contiguous intersecting streets, as defined by the RI Department of Transportation.
Advisory Functions: The major duties and responsibilities of the Project Area Committee for the Reconstruction of Route 138 are as follows:
1. Meet with the Department of Transportation as required to discuss and review proposed highway reconstruction plans
2. Advise and make policy recommendations to the Town Council regarding the proposed reconstruction project
Membership: Membership on the Committee shall include the following:
Seven (7) members from the public at large*
Two (2) members from the Town of South Kingstown(municipal staff or officials)
One (1) member from the Town of South Kingstown Historic District Commission
One (1) member from the University of Rhode Island
