What is the process for filling jobs?

The Town advertises in the local paper, posts jobs on our website and throughout Town departments, and forwards postings to the Department of Labor for placement on their job listings. The Providence Journal and/or other large newspapers are used for advertising in some instances. At the end of the application period, generally two (2) weeks, all application materials are reviewed, potential candidates are identified and invited for an interview.

Some positions are filled by competitive examination. All applicants that apply, and submit required preliminary information, are invited to participate in the process. Some fees may apply.

Note: The Town conducts background checks on all potential employees.
