Get or Renew a Library Card


The South Kingstown Public Library belongs to the Ocean State Libraries public library consortium consisting of 72 libraries.

Register for Library Card


To apply for an Ocean State Libraries (OSL) card, valid photo ID and proof of address are required. You may do this in person at any public library in Rhode Island, or start the process online (you will need to come to the library with a photo ID to confirm your online application and receive a card). The card is free of charge to Rhode Island residents. There is a $1 fee to replace a lost card.

Non-Residents


Non-residents who own property in Rhode Island are also eligible for a free card. There is an annual fee of $125 for non-residents who wish to have borrowing privileges.

Minors


Children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian when applying for a card.

Where You Can Use Your Card


You may use your card at any Rhode Island public library. You may also return OSL items at any other OSL library, regardless of where you took them out.
