Local Voting Information


The Presidential Preference Primary will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Polling locations have been combined for this election and are as follows:

Voting Districts 1, 2 and 3 vote at the Senior Center.
Voting Districts 4 and 5 vote at the Community Recreation Center.
Voting Districts 6 and 7 vote at Boss Arena at URI.
Voting Districts 8, 9 and 10 vote at the New Life Assembly.

Polls will be open from 7am to 8pm and a photo ID is required. View the Town of South Kingstown's Voting District Map and Presidential Preference Primary Map showing combined polling locations.

MAIL BALLOT APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THOSE UNABLE TO GO TO THE POLLS ON ELECTION DAY.

Deadline to Apply for a Mail Ballot
The deadline to apply for a Mail Ballot for the Presidential Preference Primary to be held on April 28, 2020 is April 7, 2020.  The application must be received by the South Kingstown Board of Canvassers, 180 High Street, Wakefield, RI  02879, no later than 4pm on April 7, 2020. Emergency Mail Ballot Applications will be available beginning on April 8th through April 27th at 4pm for those electors who won’t be able to go to the polls on April 28, 2020.
 

Deadline to Register to Vote & Make Voter Information Changes


March 29, 2020 is the last date to register to vote for the Presidential Preference Primary to be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.   The South Kingstown Public Safety Complex, 1790 Kingstown Road, Wakefield, will be open Sunday, March 29, 2020 from 8:30am through 4pm for the registration of voters.  Anyone who will reach the age of eighteen (18) on or before April 28, 2020 may register by March 29, 2020 to be eligible to vote at the Presidential Preference Primary. Those who have married and wish to have their voting records changed must re-register by March 29, 2020. Anyone who has moved within the Town must also re-register by March 29, 2020 to correct their address. March 30, 2020 is the last date to change your party affiliation. The Town Hall will be open from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm to accept disaffiliation forms.
