General Information

All meetings of the School Building Committee are livestreamed to our YouTube site.  If you are unable to attend our meetings in person we encourage you to view live or recorded meetings at your convenience and provide feedback to the committee through e-mail.  You can reach out to the SBC at sbc@southkingstownri.com.  All e-mails are forwarded to the entire committee and discussed for any consideration or action.

On Saturday, November 5, 2022 the School Building Committee held an open community forum at the South Kingstown Highschool.  Participants were asked to engage in a live interactive survey and were afforded ample opportunity to provide input and ask questions about the Necessity of School Construction Process.  The general themes of the meeting were as follows:

  • Nothing is in Stone...Yet - The SBC is starting at ground zero and considering all options.
  • Stay Engaged - Due RIDE timelines October and November will be the time the SBC has to make critical project decisions.
  • Provide Input - The SBC wants community feedback.  Please take time to attend meetings and share your thoughts!

Town Council Presentation 12/12/2022

On Monday December 12, 2022 School Committee Chair Luke Murray, Project Architect Phil Conte, and Town Finance Director Brian Silvia provided a comprehensive overview of the school building process and projects to date.  In addition a fiscal impact analysis was presented that reviewed various proposed options with the relative cost of each project outlined.
